What should we cherish, with what kind of mind should we look at the world, and where should we go from here?<\/p>\n<p>The Spectator believes that words are the most important thing that we can rely on to communicate with each other and take a new step forward.<br \/>\nWhat will happen to our lives after 311? In this long interview feature, we attempted to find out the future of Japan through dialogues with six people who are active in using &#8220;words.<\/p>\n<p>Sarasa Ohno<br \/>\nBorn in 1984 in Fukushima Prefecture. Writer. While a graduate student at Sophia University, she became interested in the Burmese refugee crisis, and while working hard on democratization and refugee issues, in 2008 she was diagnosed with fasciitis lipomatosa syndrome and dermatomyositis, two intractable diseases. His nonfiction book, &#8220;Makkutteiru Hito&#8221; (Poplar Publishing Co., Ltd.), which chronicles his epic two-year battle with the disease, became a bestseller.<\/p>\n<p>Bunta Sugawara<br \/>\nBorn in Miyagi Prefecture in 1933, Sugawara became a major star in Japan with the hit series &#8220;Battles Without Honor and Humanity&#8221; (1973) and &#8220;Truck Driver&#8221; (1975). He has worked extensively in TV dramas, commercials, as a narrator, and as a voice actor. In recent years, he has been cultivating his own farmland and giving lectures on agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>Tatsushi Fujiwara<br \/>\nLecturer at the University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Born in Hokkaido in 1976, he became an assistant professor at the Institute for Research in Humanities, Kyoto University in 2002, and has been in his current position since 2009. He specializes in the history of agricultural thought and agricultural technology. He is the author of &#8220;Organic Agriculture in Nazi Germany: \\\\&#8217;Symbiosis with Nature\\\\&#8217; Caused \\\\&#8217;Extermination of a Nation\\\\'&#8221; and &#8220;Cabra Winter: Famine and People in Germany during World War I&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Tsuyoshi Takagi<br \/>\nBorn in Tokyo in 1964. While a student at Nihon University College of Art, he won the Grand Prix at the &#8220;Tokyo International Video Biennale. Since then, he has developed his activities across media. Specializing in communication strategies and next-generation technologies, he is active in all aspects of the creative industry. He is the author of &#8220;Hikikomori Nation&#8221; Japan, &#8220;Organic Revolution,&#8221; and his latest book, &#8220;Jidai wo Ikiru Kikara (The Power to Live through the Times),&#8221; a book of suggestions for Japan after 311.<\/p>\n<p>Takashi Masaki<br \/>\nBorn in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1945, Takashi Masaki traveled to India in the mid-1960s to study Indian philosophy, returned to farming in 1980 at the foot of Mount Aso in Kyushu, and began planting trees in 2000. In 2000, he began tree-planting activities. He also organizes &#8220;walk9,&#8221; a walking tour of Japan\\\\&#8217;s nuclear power plants and South Korea. Currently, while running a pesticide-free tea garden, he also gives lectures, writes, and translates Vedanta philosophy. He is also the leader of the forest volunteer group &#8220;Mori no Koe&#8221; (Voice of the Forest). His books include &#8220;Let\\\\&#8217;s Plant Trees,&#8221; &#8220;De Amerika Ki&#8221; and &#8220;Sora Tobu Buddha.<\/p>\n<p>Mikako Harada<br \/>\nBorn in Oita Prefecture in 1968, Harada is a physician at the Cancer Particle Radiotherapy Research Center of the Medipolis Medical Research Foundation. She is currently practicing integrative medicine at Medipolis Ibusuki, where she treats patients holistically, not only physically but also mentally, based on Dr. Andrew Weil\\\\&#8217;s &#8220;natural healing power&#8221; at the University of Arizona. He is a board-certified physician in the Japanese College of Surgeons and a board-certified physician in the Japanese Society of Homoeopathic Medicine.
