G.I.S.M.’s 1st video “Performance” released simultaneously worldwide on DVD after 40 years!
G.I.S.M.’s first video “Performance”, a hardcore punk band representing Japan, will be released on DVD for the first time in 40 years! SAKEVI’s vision of the Vietnam War, selected by himself, is fused into a video that has been revived after a lapse of 40 years.
Directed by Junji Yasuda, director of all official G.I.S.M. videos, “A little rain will make you ganbatte,” “Wonderful days are also unnerving,” and “Punks Blue Era. The work shot live with three 8mm film cameras at a venue with a capacity of over 1,000 people is unprecedented. This time, Yasuda digitally remastered the preserved 8mm film and 6mm open reels recorded by TAM, who was a guitarist for Stalin, and re-edited them, resulting in a video that reflects the rawness of G.I.S.M. more with the grain and scratches of the film and the live sound.
SAKEVI YOKOYAMA, reminiscent of an Islamic terrorist; RANDY UCHIDA in heavy metal fashion; HIROSHIMA on drums, KANNON on bass, backed by Vietnam War footage and a choir projected at the venue. It reflects an overwhelming view of the world and a sense of tension that only G.I.S.M. could have created 40 years ago.
Following the release of the DVD “Resshutsuha kyakutsu onsound gundan riken 911” in 2024, which debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon charts, the new film will be released simultaneously around the world.
The DVD package is limited to the first pressing and includes an 8cm CD.
The DVD package is a faithful reproduction of the video package of the time, but an 8cm CD containing the live soundtrack of G.I.S.M. is enclosed in the DVD as a limited gear only for the first press edition.
There are four types of limited gear: “G,” “I,” “S,” and “M.” All of them are the first public sound sources, and it is impossible to determine which gear is enclosed until the DVD is opened after purchase.
