■Brian Gibson — Punk, Rock, New Wave Newcastle & Middlesbrough 1977–1978■
SIze:36 pages 14cm x 20cm
Made in England.
I grew up in Newcastle and went to gigs regularly as a teenager. When punk started to emerge in 1977, I became interested in photography and acquired a DSLR camera and a simple darkroom in my bedroom.
Soon I was immersed in the environment and became involved in the creation of a new fanzine, Deviation Street, which ran for three issues, an average circulation for a fanzine at the time. During that time, I was able to publish feature articles and reviews on local bands such as Penetration, Angelic Upstarts, Speed, and The M.P.S. (a band I later joined), as well as The Strangers, Wire, and The Ramones. (Brian Gibson)
